About the campaign
Our Challenge: Raising two million dollars over the next two years to jumpstart construction of the Velomont Trail and Vermont Hut Network – the largest hut-supported trail network in the US: helping thousands of Vermonters and visitors recreate and safely sleep in the outdoors, creating an opportunity to provide free access to underserved and deserving communities, and cultivating the next generation of trail stewards.
The next two years of work will lay the groundwork for the project at large and will see the construction of six new huts and 49 miles of new trail in central and southern Vermont. In addition, planning, permitting, and preparation for 75 miles of trail and four additional huts in central Vermont will be completed in this time – bringing a significant amount of shovel-ready projects into 2024.
