The arrival of spring means exciting times are upon us at Vermont Huts. In just a few short months, we’ll be transporting our hut from the Yestermorrow campus in Waitsfield to its final destination in Green Mountain National Forest. We anticipate the final permitting and paperwork to be finalized this April/May, after which point we’ll work quickly to get the hut opened to the general public this summer.
But that’s old news for most of you. What you really want to know is when you can book this hut, how much it’s going to cost, and what kind of benefits you’ll receive as a member. Well, the time has come. Read on to find out the hut’s pricing schedule and what type of early booking access you’ll receive as a VT Huts member.
Reservation Rollout
An exclusive members-only period of seven days will allow Vermont Huts members the ability to make early reservations. After seven days, reservations will open to the general public. In order to guarantee you have early reservation access, become a member today.
The members-only reservation window will open later this spring once the hut’s opening date in summer 2018 is more clear. In any case, the hut will be available for reservations from its opening day (summer 2018) through March 31, 2019.
Reservations for summer 2019 will open January 1, 2019, with available booking dates of May 25 – October 31, 2019. Reservations for winter 2019/20 will open July 1, 2019, with available booking dates from November 1, 2019 – March 31, 2020. After that, we’ll remain on the January/July schedule for opening reservations, effectively creating two booking seasons. The chart below may be of assistance:
Member Reservations Open | Public Reservations Open | For Bookings Between |
January 1 | January 8 | Memorial Day – Oct. 31 |
July 1 | July 8 | Nov. 1 – March 31 |
Reservation Rates
Rates for our first hut will fluctuate based on season, and making a reservation means you get exclusive use of the hut for you and your group. The prices will not change based on group size. Below is our projected rate structure. Taxes not included:
Season | Weekday Rate | Weekend / Holiday Rate |
Summer (Memorial Day – 10/31) | $135/night | $175/night |
Winter (11/1 – 3/31) | $110/night | $155/night |
Keep in mind our first hut will sleep 10 people, and we encourage you to invite friends and family to enjoy the evening with you. When dividing those nightly rates by 10 guests, you’ll end up with affordable per person rates ranging between $11/per night and $17.50 per night depending on the season. A smaller group simply means a slightly higher per person rate. Of course, you could be the generous type and not charge your friends/family their portion, but hey, that’s totally your call!
Member Discount
All members will receive a 15% discount per night. Only one member discount can be applied per night (for example, if you have three Vermont Huts members staying in the hut on the same night, the total discount will still be 15%, not 45%). However, there is no limit to the amount of times a member can use his/her nightly discount. At $35/individual and $65/family, a membership can easily pay for itself after two nights. Join today.
Cancellation Policy
Reservations canceled 15 days or more in advance will receive a 50% refund. Reservations canceled 14 days or less in advance are non-refundable.
