Together, we’re creating immersive and enriching outdoor experiences for everyone!
You can help increase equitable access to the outdoors, boost rural economies, and catalyze conservation through recreation.
We believe everyone needs open spaces to recreate, unwind, and connect—the individual, community, and economic benefits of outdoor recreation are well documented.
Not only will your membership directly impact our work improving and expanding the network of huts and trails that you enjoy, but it will also support our mission behind the work—to increase access to outdoor recreation, foster a deeper appreciation of our natural environment, and strengthen Vermont’s communities by providing enriching and immersive outdoor experiences for ALL.
Every contribution counts, so please join at the level that’s most comfortable for you. Your generosity fuels our mission and makes a real impact.

Membership increases equity.
Our FOREST Program partners with school districts and other nonprofits to invite historically marginalized communities onto the trail and into our huts entirely free of charge. Outdoor educators lead workshops in sustainability, teamwork, and recreation over two days and two nights in the wilderness. (Learn more here.)
Membership enables access.
Our huts and hostels (and outhouses!) are ADA accessible, encouraging recreationalists of all ages and abilities to play, and stay, in Vermont’s great outdoors. It costs approximately $12,000 to build an ADA accessible ramp into each hut.
Membership means miles.
Your membership enables trail building throughout the state, connecting communities and creating new points of access to recreation. Each foot of new trail costs $7.50 to construct. (Learn more about the Velomont here.)
Membership catalyzes conservation.
When complete, the Velomont project has potential to conserve up to 214,000 acres of land! This will not only guarantee public access to the network for generations to come, but also play a key role in protecting the valuable climate resilience corridor for species migration as temperatures rise.
